Democratic turnout in the Valley jumped in the 2026 primary

The Rio Grande Valley — comprised of Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr and Willacy counties — saw more than double the number of Democratic primary voters compared to March 2024. In 2024, President Donald Trump carried all four counties.
