The deadline for 30-day reports has come and gone, and we can now get a better snapshot of the financial health of the candidates ahead of the start of early voting on Oct. 20 and Election Day on Nov. 4. The next reporting deadline is Oct. 27, when candidates open their books one last time before the votes are counted.
We have compiled data for all statewide, State Board of Education, Texas Senate and Texas House candidates who filed electronically with the Texas Ethics Commission . Use the drop downs to explore the numbers by contest or by candidate. View our campaign finance explorer to view campaign finance data from the July 2014 semiannual filing that preceded this one.
This tool shows the top-line totals for contributions, expenditures, loans and cash on hand for each campaign, along with each candidate's top donors and contributions by state. There is also a link to each candidate's full report for the period.
One small note — some candidates use specific purpose political committees, or SPACs, to accept donations in lieu of using their candidate accounts. Data presented for those candidates come from the SPAC filings, and those candidates will have their SPAC names listed.
